"The Hidden Hero" By Ella-Rose Montgomery

I hear pounding.
A war coming my way.
No one notices my fight
even if I am strong.
I am the hidden hero.

I fought the battle.
I won the war.
But I lurk in the shadows
as the crowds celebrate our victory.
I am the hidden hero.

I never cared for money or fame.
I never dreamed of my name in lights.
I never sought to rise above my station.
But it is still enough.
I am the hidden hero.

I never fell on the battlefield,
no one saw who I was.
I am the powerful chess piece
tucked away on the edge of the board.
I am the hidden hero.

When they ask me to sing,
I stay in the chorus.
My voice is never heard.
I never cared for solos anyway.
I am the hidden hero.

In all the stories
I am the strongest fighter,
but out of all the storytellers
no one knows my name.
