"The True Meaning of Life" by Amelia Gregory

A sailboat on the ocean with clouds over head

What is the true meaning of life?

Is it a majestic sunrise on the ocean?

Could it be like a door that acts

like an opportunity that allows you to choose different decisions?

What if it is the amazing morning feeling that gathers in your mind?

Or could it be like a mirror that reflects on who you are every time you look at it?

Life is like an ocean,

sometimes it’s calm and smooth sailing,

but other times, it’s strong and powerful,

like a wave that crashes on the shore like thunder.

Or maybe life is a novel,

you’re the author of your own story, your own life.

You have the power to decide how your story is written.

With every new page and every single day that begins with a sense of purpose,

Well, maybe it’s not a book or a mirror, but what could it be?

What if life is way bigger than we think?

Life is like a beautiful scene,

inviting or inspiring like a whale that starts to sing down below,

igniting a special place in our hearts.

Or the everlasting bright mood that makes you smile.

While at other times, life is frustrating, angry, and aggressive.

Like the moon that’s pushed underwater, forced to drown.

If we were to think about the meaning of life,

some would say it is who we are and it keeps us alive.

Could life be different from the meaning?

Imagine the sun setting a path that will guide you home,

seagulls soaring the sky, guarding their catch of the day,

a fresh breeze mapping out the area.

Maybe nature knows what the meaning of life is.

Maybe it’s been telling us all along,

but humans haven’t yet understood,

the deep understanding of life and death.

Life is like a circle of infinite souls that flow down different paths creating life.

What if life is a place of ancient souls,

of the creatures who dwell with the sweet sounds

of moving water and bird song?

The true meaning of life has been here the whole time,

but many have felt it is out of our reach.

Life exists and is whoever it wants to be.

The meaning of life can be anything,

only you can decide what it is.
